Local Law 102 enacted in 2015 requires the Department of Education of the New York City School District to submit to the Council an annual report concerning physical education for the prior school year.
This report provides information about average frequency and average total minutes per week of physical education as defined in Local Law 102 as reported through the 2017-18 STARS database. It is important to note that schools self-report their scheduling information in STARS. The report also includes information regarding the number and ratio of certified physical education instructors and designated physical education instructional space.
Schools with a comprehensive PE program, led by a certified or designated PE teacher, can become a Move-to-Improve All-Star school by training at least 85% of their eligible teachers in Move-to-Improve, maintaining that percentage of trained teachers each year, and implementing Move-to-Improve in their classrooms.

CPI Zones are neighborhoods where NYC Parks pursued a combination of capital investment and/or targeted physical improvements, enhanced programming, and public outreach efforts through the Community Parks Initiative launched in 2014. CPI Zones were boundaries based on the NYC Department of City Planning's Neighborhood Tabulation Areas. These NTAs were selected as they capture neighborhoods that met several criteria for the initiative. They are densely populated and growing neighborhoods where there are higher-than-average concentrations of poverty as measured through the 2010 US Census, and they contain parks that are suitable for recreational redevelopment and received less than $250,000 in capital investment from 1992-2013.

The October reporting requires citywide suspension data by month for the second half of the academic year, January through June. Per the legislation and in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), any value from zero (0) to five (5) has been redacted.

In August 2005, New York State Legislature passed "Billy's Law" which is requiring biannual reports of State and local monitoring of out-of-state residential facilities that house New York State children who are placed in such facilities for specialized services including specialized educational services. Reports are to be produced on first day of September and February, containing name and location of each facility, number of children placed, general population served by each facility, the number of individuals served, the age, race, gender and nature of any disabilities and the types of services provided by each out of state facility.

This dataset is a monthly breakdown of the amount of tonnage diverted from the landfill in the City of Buffalo. Garbage tonnage totals are included for comparison. Materials are diverted from landfills in different ways, including curbside recycling, electronics recycling, hazardous waste disposal, tire recycling, scrap metal recycling, yard waste recycling, and asphalt and sidewalk debris diversion.

This dataset lists the audit determinations that the New York City Campaign Finance Board has imposed on New York City political campaigns from the year 2000 to the present.

The polygons in this dataset show mapped forest restoration planting polygons. These polygons depict areas where invasive plants were removed and native trees and/or shrubs were planted under the purview of NYC Parks? Natural Resources Group as part of the MillionTreesNYC initiative on property under the jurisdiction of NYC Parks. Spring plantings occur between January 1 and June 30, while Fall plantings occur between July 1 and December 31 of any year. Older restoration polygons were mapped via heads-up digitizing while the location of newer polygons have been collected using a high-accuracy GPS device.
