This data identifies City property under the jurisdiction of NYC Parks, which may be managed partially or solely by the Agency. This data has been produced in whole or part using secondary data. Data accuracy is limited by the scale and accuracy of the original sources. Site-specific conditions should be field-verified. For legal accuracy, refer to the maps that established parks and acquisition maps.

Directory of Parking Lots

Street tree data from the TreesCount! 2015 Street Tree Census, conducted by volunteers and staff organized by NYC Parks & Recreation and partner organizations. Tree data collected includes tree species, diameter and perception of health. Accompanying blockface data is available indicating status of data collection and data release citywide.

The 2015 tree census was the third decadal street tree census and largest citizen science initiative in NYC Parks’ history. Data collection ran from May 2015 to October 2016 and the results of the census show that there are 666,134 trees planted along NYC's streets. The data collected as part of the census represents a snapshot in time of trees under NYC Parks' jurisdiction.

The census data formed the basis of our operational database, the Forestry Management System (ForMS) which is used daily by our foresters and other staff for inventory and asset management.

Current number of times a given tree has been marked as a favorite by registered users of the NYC Street Tree Map (nyc.gov/parks/treemap).

This dataset can be joined to the Forestry Tree Points dataset (https://data.cityofnewyork.us/Environment/Forestry-Tree-Points/k5ta-2trh) by joining the TreeId to OBJECTID from Forestry Tree Points.

Directory of Play Areas

A listing of the next two weeks of events taking place on NYC Parks properties that are open to the public.

This data is table of monuments that is maintained by NYC Parks. Prior to being stored electronically the original data was stored on index cards dating back to the 1940s. The database is updated periodically to include new monuments, and information updated for existing monuments. For questions about the dataset please contact Parks’ Art & Antiquities division at (212) 360-8143.

Directory of suggested edits to information in NYC Street Tree Map. Users can suggest a different species, diameter, or other notes about the tree. Edits are reviewed by a NYC Street Tree Map administrator before they are incorporated into the Map. This directory tracks the content and status of each suggested edit.
